1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using the FamilyForest application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

FamilyForest is a mobile application for creating, managing, and visualizing family trees. The App allows you to record family member profiles, define relationships, view statistical insights about your family data, and export your family tree. The App syncs data through your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit service.

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your device and iCloud account credentials. You are responsible for all data you create within the App, including the accuracy of information about individuals. You should obtain consent before recording personal information about living individuals.

4. Data and Privacy

Your family tree data is stored locally on your device and synced through your personal iCloud account. The App does not transmit your data to any third-party servers. The Developer does not collect, access, or store your family tree content. Data handling is governed by our Privacy Policy .

5. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App — including but not limited to the visual design, layout engine, user interface, graphics, and software code — are the exclusive property of the Developer and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the App.

6. Availability and Updates

The App is distributed through the App Store and may be updated from time to time. Features may change, improve, or be removed in future versions. The Developer recommends maintaining backups of important family data through the export feature.

7. Limitation of Liability

The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to loss of data, even if the Developer has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

8. iCloud Sync Disclaimer

Data synchronization through iCloud depends on Apple's CloudKit infrastructure and your iCloud account status. The Developer is not responsible for sync delays, conflicts, or data loss attributable to iCloud service interruptions, account issues, or Apple's infrastructure.

9. Termination

The Developer may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time without prior notice. Upon termination, your data remains in your iCloud account unless you choose to delete it through the App's data management features.

10. Changes to Terms

The Developer reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting the updated Terms on this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
